Kitty’s Flowers has two locations in the lovely state of Maryland, one in Salisbury, MD, and the other in Berlin, MD. We’d like to share with you a little information about these two wonderful cities we chose to open up Kitty’s Flower shop, put down roots, and call home.

Salisbury, MD

Located at the head of the Wicomico River, which leads to the Chesapeake Bay, Salisbury has been a thriving community since its founding in 1732. With the second-largest water port in Maryland, the Salisbury area offers an ideal mix of urban elements and scenic rural regions and is centrally located near major metropolitan areas. 

Even though it’s the largest city in the Eastern Shore region of Maryland, Salisbury is known for its distinct small-town feel. There’s plenty to do here as well since Salisbury has a rich history. You can explore history and nature at the 26-acre Pemberton Historical Park that offers 4.5 miles of beautiful hiking trails, or visit the wide array of animals at the Salisbury Zoo. And, if you’re into art and birds, then don’t miss the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art. After taking in so much nature, be sure to stop by Kitty’s Flower shop in Salisbury to pick up a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers to bring into your home to remind you of the beauty of nature.

Salisbury also hosts a number of popular annual festivals and events for all ages. If you’re a fan of wine, great food, and live entertainment, then check out the Autumn Wine Festival at Pemberton Historical Park. Bring a chair, a blanket, and some friends to enjoy sampling from some of Maryland’s top wineries during this 2-day festival. Experience some Americana during the Downtown Salisbury Festival with local vendors, activities, and live music. An annual tradition, the Wicomico County Fair takes place on the third weekend of August each year at WinterPlace Park. See livestock exhibits, arts and crafts, auctions, a five-foot fry pan, music, and local vendors.

Berlin, MD

The historic small town of Berlin is part of the Salisbury metropolitan area, and its tree-lined streets, numerous historic homes, and Victorian town center captivate all who visit. Downtown Berlin is a thriving arts and entertainment district and their Main Street alone boasts over 60 retail shops, antiques, galleries, dining establishments, coffee shops, bakeries, live music venues, and more. In fact, Berlin has been ranked as a Top 10 Great American Main Street two times.

Berlin also has spectacular events throughout the year, such as movie nights, concerts in the park,  the annual Peach Festival, and the fun Bathtub Races. You’ll also find parades, holiday festivals, and a wonderful community spirit that only small towns have. The Kitty’s Flowers family loves being a part of the Berlin community. Grab some fresh-cut stems or a flower crown as you enjoy all the wonderful sights and activities of this charming small town.
