Expressing Genuine Thanks: Flowers with Meaningful Messages of Gratitude

There’s so much to be grateful for right now! We just love when it’s time to start planning for the holidays (they’ll be here before you know it, too). It’s also time for the kids to come home from college (yay, but oof, that grocery bill). And of course there’s always events going on, like birthdays, graduations, showers, and parties, oh my! No matter how you slice it, gratitude season is upon us. Enter fresh flowers from Kitty’s Flowers in Salisbury, Maryland, the best gift out there. We’ll tell you all about our favorite bouquets and centerpieces, perfect for saying “thank you” loud and clear!

Hydrangeas

Of all of the flowers in the world of floristry, the blossoms that say “thank you” the loudest (in our humble opinion) are hydrangeas. We also happen to think they’re exceptionally gorgeous, with round, lush blooms that make us feel warm and fuzzy inside. Reps of heartfelt emotion in the sincerest possible way, hydrangeas have an edge that makes them right on point every time you feel grateful. Zhuzh things up by choosing purple hydrangeas, which bring deep admiration to the party.

Orchids

Want to send a message of thanks that’s like a rejuvenating island breeze? Tropical orchids are absolutely great for this task, sure to warm the heart of the person who’s more than deserving of your gratitude. To add a bit of dimension to your gift, bring color into the equation. Want to call out grace? White orchids are the way to go. Mindfulness? That’s a job for blue orchids. For straight-up admiration, purple blooms have you covered, 100 percent.

Roses

In the world of fresh blooms, roses are almost always the most popular kid in school, picked first for just about everything (and we’re not mad about it!). There’s a good reason these total classics get all the attention: they’re gorgeous and light up any space. On your quest to show appreciation, let the language of colors help you out (sensing a theme?). For example, pink roses say “I appreciate you,” plain and simple, while yellow roses proclaim that the recipient’s friendship is a total joy. Or, hear us out: go multicolor for a feast for the senses.

Chrysanthemums

What flowers come to mind when you think of gratitude season, literally? No doubt, iconic autumn bloomers like chrysanthemums, which bring warmth wherever they go. You can use them to spruce up your home and amp up that delicious seasonal energy (our favorite kind!). Given that chrysanthemums also represent respect, happiness, and deep friendship, they’re ideal for gifting when our sense of gratitude is strongest, too. It doesn’t get more on-point than that!

Lilies

They may be the last flower on our list of appreciation blooms, but lilies are just as beautiful and impactful when you want to give back in a big way. The best part (we think so, anyway), is that you can pick different colors to give your message a note of nuance (yup, again!). To bring in the sunshine, we love to include yellow lilies in the bouquet, which rep thankfulness, wellness, and joy (so perfect!). For a softer touch, pink lilies are all about sophistication and generosity, a home run.

Fresh flowers are always a great way to show appreciation — but if you want to go next level, symbolic stems from Kitty’s Flowers are guaranteed to hit the mark perfectly.
